Greetings,
I stumbled upon this forum while I was surfing for information for my project. I found it to be useful, especially for establishing networks and sharing experiences.
As an introduction, I'm an HR executive with a multinational company based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I am currently attached to the capability development unit. The company I work for has more than 20,000 employees and operates in more than 35 countries.
I enjoy reading, writing, traveling, and arts & crafts.
Cheers. 😄

Hi Eliza,
Welcome to the group. The first thing that makes me curious is to know about this capability development unit. It seems similar to knowledge management or talent management, but I want to understand what it actually is and what you all do in that? I am looking forward to your reply soon.
Have a nice time.

Hi all,
The kind of work that we do can be summarized as institutionalizing the capabilities required to run the business, be it technical or nontechnical capabilities. We look at the respective business sectors and build the capability models from there, aligning with the business goals. We also look at internal resources and assess our people based on these models. In that sense, it's part of talent management.
There are other scopes of work for the unit as well, such as mentoring, profiling of management positions, competencies, and career management.
Regards.
