Dear All,
The attached PowerPoint presentation shows only what happens in the US, and no information regarding any committee or law that deals with such situations in our country has been given. It would be good if some information were available regarding the same in India.

Hi,
That was a great presentation, and thanks for sharing it with all of us. I am a trainer on the prevention of sexual harassment in the workplace, working for an NGO. I would appreciate having some case studies of experiences related to such incidents from the private sector. Your sharing would definitely assist me in conveying the information to my student group. I am attaching a file provided by the National Commission for Women containing their guidelines.

Hi Ken,
What Sameer has pointed out is correct. It is also mandatory for all private and public sector companies/firms to constitute a committee to address issues on sexual harassment in the workplace. Below are the guidelines for the committee:
Guidelines on Prevention of Sexual Harassment suggest both preventive and remedial measures. Employers should:
1. Set up a sexual harassment complaints committee that:
- is headed by a woman
- has a minimum of 50% women members
- includes at least one outside member familiar with the issue
2. Make employees aware by:
- widely publicizing the guidelines
- conducting awareness workshops
- prominently displaying committee members' names and addresses
3. Amend conduct rules to prohibit sexual harassment.
4. Ensure that no woman employee believes she is disadvantaged in employment if she complains about sexual harassment.
It is important to note that the employer or their relatives should not have a place on the committee. Criminal proceedings can be initiated against the harasser.
I hope this information will be helpful to you and the other members too. We have initiated a campaign to educate people about the committee. I would be very happy if the members in this forum help in taking this campaign forward by passing this information to your friends and team members.
Thanks and regards,
Jyothi

Hi Hanuma,
I am Sharmila. Your PowerPoint presentation was really useful, providing practical knowledge. It is essential to create awareness about sexual harassment and the ways to act against it.
I have also added my small presentation on sexual harassment in the workplace, which I created during my second year of undergrad. It offers a basic understanding, not as in-depth as your knowledge and applicability. If anyone is interested in having just a basic understanding, you can take a look at it.
With warm regards,
