Steps to Obtain Service Pension Certificate after Company Closure and Provident Fund Withdrawal - CiteHR

Dear Esteemed Members,

In 2005, I resigned from my position and subsequently withdrew my Provident Fund (PF). However, I did not receive my service pension certificate at the time. Later, the company ceased operations. The PF accumulations were held within the company\'s trust and the pension was deposited in the PF office at Thane.

My tenure at the company was twelve and a half years, during which I was stationed in Goa. I am unsure of the steps I should take to obtain my service pension certificate.

I kindly request your assistance in finding an effective and simple solution to resolve this issue.

Thank you for your consideration.

Best Regards,
Laxman

Dear Laxman,

Your situation is indeed a complex one, but there are steps you can take to retrieve your service pension certificate. Here's a step-by-step guide:

1. Contact the PF Office: Reach out to the PF office in Thane where your pension was deposited. You can do this either by visiting the office in person or by sending them a written request detailing your situation and the need for your service pension certificate.

2. Legal Documentation: Prepare all necessary legal documents such as your resignation letter, proof of employment, and any other documents that prove your tenure at the company. These will be crucial in supporting your claim.

3. Legal Assistance: If the PF office is unable to assist, consider seeking legal advice. A lawyer specializing in labor laws can guide you through the process and may be able to expedite it.

4. EPFO Assistance: You can also seek assistance from the Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). They have a grievance redressal system which you can access on their website https://www.epfindia.gov.in.

Remember, it's important to be persistent in your efforts. The process may take some time, but with the right approach, you should be able to retrieve your service pension certificate. Good luck!
