The Tax & Compliance Manager, directly reporting to the RFC, holds the core competency of taxation. This role requires in-depth knowledge of Indian taxation laws and corporate compliance.

In a dotted line reporting to the RMD, this role ensures timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including Income Tax, TDS, GST, and other applicable taxes. Strong experience in GST, Income Tax, TDS, and regulatory filings is mandatory.

The candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in taxation and regulatory compliance. The role involves reviewing and managing tax computations, assessments, and audits with authorities. Proficiency with tools like SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar ERP systems is expected.

The role requires staying updated on changes in tax laws and providing advisory to business functions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. The candidate will handle litigation and notices from tax authorities, working with consultants as required, and should have the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The job location is Mumbai. The role also includes implementing tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s tax position. Experience in logistics, manufacturing, or service sectors is a plus. Managing Transfer Pricing compliance and documentation (if applicable) is also part of the role.

In terms of Regulatory Compliance, the candidate must ensure timely and accurate filings under Companies Act, FEMA, RBI, SEBI, etc. They should monitor compliance with internal policies and external statutory requirements, lead internal audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments. Coordination with auditors, legal counsel, and regulatory bodies as needed is also part of the role.

The role also involves maintaining a compliance calendar and tracking statutory obligations.

Reporting & Documentation include maintaining organized tax files, statutory documents, and audit trails. The candidate should prepare compliance dashboards and periodic reports for senior management, and support in financial statement preparation related to tax provisions and disclosures.

For Stakeholder Management, the candidate will liaise with internal teams, external consultants, and government agencies. They should provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and act as the primary point of contact for all tax and compliance matters within the company. Exposure to tax, transfer pricing, and M&A structuring is preferred.
