Your friend joined the present company only in April, right? The company will generate the challan now, probably before the 15th of May. Before that, make sure she has provided the same UAN (generated by her previous employer) to the present company as well. After generating the ECR for the month of April, by the 20th of this month, she can check the status. I am sure there will be two accounts: one with a PF member ID created by her previous employer and one by the current employer. Then she can transfer her previous amount to the present account easily.
If the previous employer has not given an exit to her, then the issue would still arise. If the employer has not exited her, she cannot transfer the accumulation from the previous company. However, she can do it online using her member portal itself. There is a field for exiting by the member. Please do that now.
