Handling Employee Resignation After Unauthorized Absence

Respected All,

I request you to kindly reply to me because I am a bit new to handling this situation. What if a new employee leaves the company after 10 days of working without giving any prior information, and suddenly, after 20 days, sends a resignation email for clearance? What possible reply can we give, and are we authorized to provide settlement for those who have been absent for an unauthorized period of time?

You need to reply to the employee that, as per the terms and conditions of their appointment order, they need to serve the proper notice period. Moreover, make it clear that their absence from work without information for more than 20 days is serious misconduct. Advise the employee to report back to the office with proper justification for their absence and also to serve proper notice even if they are not interested in continuing.

Its only 10 days since joining, so no action can be taken. As a part of best work ractices, his salary for the days worked may be paid as a legal due.
