Understanding Voluntary Provident Fund (VPF) Contributions and Employee Balance Checking - CiteHR

What is the percentage of the voluntary provident fund in a company?

How do I submit the monthly contribution to the voluntary provident fund? Where can an employee check their voluntary contribution balance?

Thank you.

Dear Colleague,

If you are covered under the PF Fund administered by the Employees' Provident Fund Organization, you may inform your HR about a percentage of VPF, which is called Voluntary PF. In the case of VPF, there is no limit on the percentage, and it is your choice. The VPF will be deducted from your payroll and will be remitted and shown in the Portal in EPF. You can log into the portal using your UAN number and check the status of VPF then and there. This can be done at the beginning of the Financial Year, and the percentage normally has to continue for the entire FY.

In case your organization maintains an Exempted Trust for maintaining PF, you may inform your HR for VPF deduction, and you need to get the account slip from the Trust to check the PF and VPF status. Some companies link this with the payroll and provide the slip online in their portal.
