HR cannot add value in assessing the depth of technical knowledge the person is required to possess; this task must be done by a technical expert in the field.
HR can add value by assessing whether the candidate has handled similar product development projects in previous roles and their general fit into the team in terms of salary parity, job level parity, attitude, values, and other relevant aspects.
