Hi, I have worked for an MNC for 8 months, and then I met with a major accident, so I was absconded from the company. Now, I need to obtain the relieving letter from the company to apply for other jobs. It has been 3 months since I absconded. My HR has accepted my request to issue me the relieving letter. Can I know how many days it takes to get the letter? I am also ready to pay the due amount for my recovery deductions and provide medical documents as my reason is genuine. I need the letter as soon as possible.

Addressing Absconding Issues with HR
Pujitha-Sai, it might have been more appropriate to address this matter in an email to your company's HR manager rather than posting it here. It is the responsibility of the HR manager or the person issuing the letter to respond to such situations. You have acknowledged that you absconded, which is generally considered an inappropriate action for an employee. Instead of preparing medical certificates and other documents now, it would have been better to have them ready and sent to the company immediately after being discharged from the hospital. Ideally, you should have informed the company of your situation promptly after the accident, perhaps by sending someone from your home to the office. Unfortunately, this was not done, and the company likely experienced some loss as a result. Now, the company will also need time to issue your relieving order.
