Dear Sir,

As an employee, I currently have around 50 days of EL in my account. If I utilize approximately 15 days this month, I am curious about how my employer will calculate my salary for the month. Will I receive salary for the 15 days worked and the remaining 15 days as encashment?

Please advise.

Your question is not clear to me.

Accumulation of earned leave (EL) after availing it in a year is subject to the limit fixed in the Act under which the leave is applicable. When you go on EL for 15 days in a month, you will receive leave salary for those 15 days and duty salary for the remaining days you worked. In this situation, where does the question of encashment arise?

Dear friend,

Any company has a policy of EL accumulation limit up to 30/60/90. In such a case, if you have 50 leaves, please check the policy to determine the accumulation limit for EL. If you exceed the EL limit, the excess will either be encashed or lapsed if you do not utilize them. I hope your doubt is cleared now.

It depends on Company policy. Are you working in Government sector/Public sector or private sector?
