I have sent the PF death claim for one person. That claim was rejected due to the dependent certificate not being furnished in the father's name. In the legal heirship certificate, his father's name is not mentioned, and we also provided the dependent certificate without his father's name. Why was the claim rejected?

EPF claims require a nomination, and the department only accepts that form. However, in the case of not filing the nomination form, the department considers only the first-line family members. If the member is married, the wife is the sole person eligible to file the claim. If unmarried, the mother can file the claim. If anyone other than the mentioned individuals makes a claim, the department may request succession information from any court.
