Have you hired an experienced HR person? That will be the beginning of putting in place HR policies as per industry standards and laws. Then, you can consider hiring a consulting firm to draft HR policies. The internet is a valuable source of information, but it is essential to handle things professionally. Please refrain from taking shortcuts. Establishing a good HR setup is worthwhile and will significantly contribute to the bottom line.

Policies need to be prepared based on your industry and state/central law. You may find many draft policies on Google, but they may not be useful for your industry. As an HR professional, merely preparing policies is not enough; they need to be implemented in the organization.

Hiring a consultant is a wise idea if your HR budget is high. However, if you have a dedicated HR person, it will lower your costs as it is not only the policies to be created but also to be implemented. HR policies are only to be drafted based on your company's requirements. It may differ from each company.

Better to hire expert services from consultants. Have a complete analysis of your HR needs. Conduct a study on statutory compliance and applicable regulatory laws and rules relevant to human resources. Understand the work environment, culture, and management plans in human resource management. Ensure appropriate formation within the organization chart. Define duties and responsibilities for each subsection within HR. Dedicate timelines for implementations. Initiate appropriate directives from top management to circulate and implement policies developed after review and guidance from consultants. Consider the industry type and local areas for effective control and smooth handling of IR issues. Understanding various regulatory acts and applicable regulations will help in comprehending how the HR department will function without any legal hassle, for which an expert consultant with thorough knowledge in the field will be beneficial.
