Hi Girish, I have attached a presentation on the ISO-14001 standard and its requirements. Hope this will suffice your purpose. Chandrika
Compliance to ISO 14001 standard has to be evaluated if the system has to be effective and the Certificate to ISO 14001 is to remain valid. This is done by internal audits by the compnay's own trained personnel and by auditors from certifying bodies.
This aspect was well covered in the ppt that came in answer to your question and is also mentioned in the ISO 14001 Standard.

there are approx 150 EHS related legislations. Pick details from Quality Council of India, they organsise workshops too on the same at a nominal cost..
an example is the law relating to "chemical accidents'.. The cos should hv a disaster mgmt plan in place too (ref to National Instt of Disaster Mgmt for details)
compliance is adherence to law or written statement/policy/ provisons of the standard..
