Dear Professional colleagues,
Is there any standard procedure or practice to deduct weekly holiday/festival wages if an employee does not work for 20 days in a month? For example, if he/she works for fewer than 20 days in any particular month.

Dear,
For the eligibility of paid holidays, an employee must be present before or after the paid holiday. If he/she is absent on both days of the paid holiday - that is, absent before and after the paid holiday - then you have to deduct that paid holiday.

Leave is credited annually based on the total days worked in the previous year. The entitlement is 1 day for every 20 days worked. Employees are eligible for National & Festival Holidays as applicable to the relevant state. An employee will get a weekly holiday at a rate of 1 day for every 6 days of work performed.
