Sir, I work in the largest Construction Firm MNC in India. Here, employees are made to work from 8:30 hours to 20:00 hours. No overtime or such allowances are provided. While recruiting, these timings of work were not mentioned in the offer letter. Do I have the right to claim overtime allowance? What should be its rate?

Are you a worker or an officer? Claiming overtime depends on this response. Officers are not entitled for overtime.

Yes, you must speak with your HR in this regard. Could you please also share something about yourself, like which position you are holding there, and have you ever read the HR policies or Employee Handbook available in your company? You can also speak with your HR in this regard.

Hello!

Regarding overtime (OT), if you are a worker/employee under the Factories Act/ Shops Act, it provides for OT payment at double the rate for working beyond 9 hours a day or 48 hours a week. It is the statutory right of an employee.
