Dear seniors,

I am Sreenivas. Presently, I am working in a private transport company, and I have 4 years of experience as an HR executive in civil companies and the automobile sector.

I must point out that in my previous experience, I haven't learned as much as I need to grow in the HR field. I have a weakness in that I am scared to talk with strangers, and I can't speak English fluently. Kindly suggest how I can grow in the HR field.

I am fond of the HR role, and I have an MBA in HR with subject knowledge. However, practically, I struggle to apply functions in this field. Please suggest to me, sir.

Thank you.

That is good... I mean, you know your problem, so try to resolve it. Read HR-related posts, try to answer them, speak in English with your colleagues, and don't hesitate to speak slowly. Gradually, you will learn how to respond. Don't lose your confidence.

Dear Srinivas,

You have been a member of Cite HR for a long time but with less active participation. Please type "how to speak English fluently" inside the 'search' box that you find in the title bar above. Then press 'enter' key. You will find a lot of posts and a plethora of innovative ideas as well. Go through them. The only solution is to repeatedly practice and by specifically devoting more time.

Dear Vasu,

Confidence does not come overnight, as the fear that has prevented you from being social and trying and failing is built over a long period of time. But start now. Learn at least one word of English every day. Speak in front of the mirror alone at home and practice. Similarly, failing is not the end of life. Fail and fail, but again try and try. You will automatically improve and will stop fearing failure. This is the beginning. Grow more with this foundation. Then learning, whether HR or other subjects, becomes easy.

Dear Sreenivas,

I have the same problem as you. I advise one thing: you must read the HR research paper. By reading this, you will grow slowly, and it will also enhance your English communication skills.

Thank you to everyone for your valuable guidance. From today onwards, I will do as you suggest and actively participate in CiteHR. Dear Kaleem garu, where or how can I get HR research papers?

Regards,
Sreenivas.
