Please help me out with an appointment letter for an existing employee who has been transferred to another department with a promotion as a manager. Please assist with this by Monday as I need to give it.

Hi Instead of issuing the appointment letter you can issue the promotion letter. In that you can mention as transfered to the department also

An appointment letter enumerates the conditions of employment. The conditions of employment do not change when an employee is transferred from one department to another. Therefore, as stated by Jeevarathnam, please issue the promotion or transfer letter. In this letter, you may include the employee's job description, reporting authority, measures of performance, etc.

You are promoted to [name of post] and posted/transferred to work in [name of Dept.] w.e.f. [date] or from the date of reporting, whichever is earlier.

Dear Swethasrini,

No need to give any appointment order. Since your company is promoting him to the higher post, you can issue him an Office Order quoting his promotion details such as designation, salary, other allowances, etc. Either in the same letter or by a separate letter, you can mention that the services of Mr. xxx are transferred to a specific place due to exigencies of work and place, including details on whom to report to, etc. Please ensure to give him a minimum of 10 days to report to the new place of posting.
