We are planning to avail a mediclaim policy for our employees. Can anyone suggest the best option or insurance company? This is an IT firm located in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, where around 50 employees are working.

To our experience, you'd better opt for a government insurance company where the procedures are a bit lengthy and less professional. However, for any excess of your claim amount, they will reimburse without much hassle.

I agree with Kumaracme when he suggests public sector companies for mediclaim policies. New India Assurance and Oriental Insurance offer various policies. Speak to them or call the development office to discuss the merits and demerits of various policies and decide accordingly.
Any day, I would prefer government insurance companies.

Whether they are exempted employees or not confirm as per the ESIC Act. Better service provider is STAR HEALTH AND ALLIED INSURANCE CO., but it is slightly expensive. Thank you Chandrashekar

As far as I have understood, the Punjab National Bank with Oriental Insurance Company provides Mediclaim Policy at the lowest rate. However, this is available only for SB Account holders in PNB. If you can keep the salary accounts of your employees with PNB, then this will be the best option. Please compare details with other offers too before coming to a final decision.
