Provisional Increase in Minimum Wage Rates
The State Government has further increased the minimum rates of wages for different categories of employees in respect of several scheduled employments on a provisional basis. This is due to the ongoing consideration of shifting Consumer Price Index numbers from the existing CPI index of (1987-100) to the (2001-100) series. The said increase is only on a provisional basis.
Thus, the State Government has enhanced the minimum rates of wages with effect from 01.03.2014. The increase in wages is as follows:
- For monthly rated employees: Rs. 200.00
- For daily rated employees: Rs. 7.70
- For hourly workers: Rs. 0.96
The details of enhanced minimum rates of wages for monthly rated, daily rated, and hourly rated employees under different categories are provided in the attachment.
