Greetings to Everyone,

I wanted to know what will be the process and documentation a small company has to perform if they want to hire an intern for a summer internship. What are the points one should keep in mind while preparing an offer letter for an intern? What documents does the intern have to submit to the company, and what will be the certification at the end of the internship from the company's side?

Also, what is today's scenario regarding how much stipend the company should pay and what other allowances should be provided?

Please revert as soon as possible.

Dear Mr. Atul,

Documents you can take from the applicant are as below:

1) Resume

2) Letter from his college stating that he can join any organization, which can be a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or a request letter.

3) ID proof

4) At least two passport-sized photographs.

If interns are BBA or MBA students, he/she will submit a copy of their project report.

Regarding the stipend, some companies hire interns free of cost. Some simply pay Rs. 2000 / Rs. 4000 as conveyance reimbursement, and some pay a good amount ranging from Rs. 8000 to Rs. 12000.

If the profile assigned to them is in sales & marketing, actual conveyance and mobile reimbursement must be taken into account for reimbursement.

They must be entitled to at least two days of leave in a month.

The tenure must be fixed before joining.

Please find attached two sample attachments; hopefully, they will be useful for you.

Regards,
Gunjan
