I am working in a factory in Chennai. Now, we want to shift our factory to a new location which is 30 km from the existing location.

Under which provision/rules of the Factories Act can we do this? Is there any lead time to be given to workmen? We currently have a transport facility and plan to extend this service to the new factory as well.

Could someone provide me with a draft of the notice to be displayed?

Dear Mr. Korgaonkar,

2. Manufacturing process & list of products.
3. Number of workers employed.
4. Name of trade union (if any at your factory).
5. Is there any wage agreement?
6. Government & labor liabilities.
7. Any litigation against your factory or employer.
8. List of Directors/Proprietor & Name, address, telephone number, email of the authorized person for finalizing the shifting.

Upon receipt of the above information, the shifting procedure will be initiated if a contract is made with me.
