Dear all,
I had asked you a question a few days back and I received good replies. Thank you all for your suggestions. However, there is one more issue I need advice on – my company is merging with another. If they ask for my documents, what should I do? Can I inform HR that I lost my original experience certificate and request not to consider that 6 months of experience? The company we are merging with might have a background verification policy, which I am not aware of yet.
In my previous post, I mentioned that I have been working in a software company for the past 3 years. I initially joined as a resource with 2.5 years of experience. Now, my total experience is 5.5 years. Unfortunately, during my joining, I provided false information by stating 6 months of fake experience. I deeply regret this decision and will always feel guilty about it. Can you please advise me on what steps I should take? I have the following questions:
Should I disclose this to HR? I am in desperate need of a job as my family depends on me. Please help me with your suggestions.
Thank you.

First of all, you should not show that experience as you have really good experience. Why have you shown 6 months of fake experience when you actually have 5 years of genuine experience? Anyways, now you will have to handle the situation with the company where you presented fake experience and ensure to be more careful about this in the future.

Dear Mr. Vishnu1988,
Comprehend the fact that you have faked yourself deliberately. Many hiring/recruitment managers know that 95% of resumes are faked in some way. Haven't you thought before committing such a misstep?
I would certainly suggest you not to take any hazy step further. When a company is merging with another, they generally do not ask for experience certificates. On a safer side, you may arrange your experience, excluding those 6 months of tenure. If you can showcase your skillset and provide references, those six months won't matter to the person assessing you.
You said, "You shall always feel guilty for what you did." Next time, do not fabricate anything you haven't done or include something that isn't true. Remember that any good falsehood must have truth at its core. If you don't possess the required skills, don't fake it.

Hello, I agree I committed the mistake, but now I want to remove that 6-month experience any how. HR will ask for my updated CV. Should I send it without fake experience? Please suggest to me and also inform me about the extreme conditions HR can take actions.

Dear All,
Please help me with a query about monthly returns. Every month, we submit ESIC and PF challans. If any new employee joins our company, we fill out Form 2 and send it to the PF office. I just want to know if there are any returns to be filed either annually or monthly for ESIC and PF.
