I am working as an Accountant in Bahrain for the last three years, and my visa is valid until June 2013. Can I go to Oman on a working visa without canceling my Bahrain visa?

Dear all, please provide me with the details.

GCC countries have an agreement regarding the retention of visas from another GCC country. For example, the UAE has no objections. It is advisable to consult with the Omani employer or any PR Company in Oman regarding Oman's rules in this matter.

Furthermore, be aware that the Omani employer may insist on the "cancellation" of Bahrain visa with the suspicion that you may "abscond". Multiple RP is useful (from the viewpoint of the employers) if the same company has offices in two or more GCC countries.

Oman employment visa can be applied for without canceling your existing Bahrain visa. There is also an exception: a medical report from the authorized medical center (GAMCA) may not be required if you already have a Bahrain visa. However, when you undergo the Oman MOH medical, you will need to obtain a medical report from any authorized medical center in Oman. Previously, it was common practice for employers to provide an undertaking at the time of applying for a visa for individuals with GCC visas, stating that the visa would be cancelled later. This practice is no longer being followed. In your case, there shouldn't be any issue as your Bahrain visa is also expiring in 2013.

All the best,
