I completed my PGDM specializing in HR in 2009 and have since been working in the Industrial Relations department for a large construction company. I am now seeking an opportunity in HR within the manufacturing sector. What are my chances?

Could you kindly provide a brief explanation of your specific departmental change requirements? Are you encountering any difficulties in proceeding with the IR Department?
In fact, IR is a more interesting subject than HR. What are you expecting in your profile after 5 years of experience from now? Try to identify your goals rather than focusing on departmental obstacles.

First, thank you for your comments. I am going to explain here that in my current position, I am required to handle issues related to laborers engaged at the construction site. The work involves preparing wages as per government norms (labor commission), labor welfare, daily attendance, housekeeping, sanitation of labor colonies, construction-related statutory compliance work, etc. So far, this has been a good experience. However, it does not involve actual HR work like recruitment, selection, training, development, grievance management of staff of the company (this is handled by the HR department at a different level), which I want to do based on my qualifications. Expecting your valuable comments.
