Thank you, Ramesh, for drawing attention to the community in this industry. How can we add data and some real stories? The need of the hour is to work with a community that can bring change. Knowledge that cannot change the situation has no meaning.
Let Cite HR members in one particular city get to know each other and spare at least one hour a week (or 4 hours at a stretch in a month) to work on grassroots initiatives. Let our knowledge help reduce the sufferings of the people who serve us. How many of us visit restaurants in our city? Get some real stories of accidents that can be used as case studies. If Kejriwal can start India Against Corruption, why can't we start India Against workplace accidents?

Hello Mr. Ramesh Bhardwaj,
A novel presentation. Often we come across discussions only about the use of gas cylinders. This provides a complete safety outlook. Like the popular saying, "CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME," we should also now emphasize that SAFETY BEGINS AT HOME.

Dear All,
I would like to mention one of my concerns here. We are appreciating the thread starter for what he shared; however, there haven't been many discussions among the participants regarding the comments made by others. In this thread, the comments are provided by PTRC, but no one has responded to them. Following this post, there are two further postings. This same pattern has occurred previously as well. I can provide links if anyone is interested in taking a look.
My point is that we should try to introduce some useful topics, and everyone should engage in discussions on the thread to reach a common conclusion that would benefit all. If we only focus on sharing what we have, I believe the purpose of this wonderful forum will be defeated. I hope all members will take my suggestion positively and review/comment on the posts made by others in the threads started by you and our fellow members. This way, we can motivate each other, and this forum will surely evolve into a valuable platform for sharing and gaining knowledge through fruitful discussions.
@PTRC (Jagdish Patel): Sir, I am in favor of your view, and it's a good thought. If you go to hotels and restaurants, you can definitely find people who are suffering, including child laborers. I am currently based in Delhi and am willing to dedicate time as you suggested if other members are willing to join positively. We can arrange a common place to meet and discuss productively. I look forward to hearing the views of others.
Thank you.

Dear Dipil and Sudhir Ji,
I really appreciate your concerns regarding the comments by our team members. You are very much right that this site is a beautiful platform where we share our views and thoughts to come to a common conclusion. We share our knowledge for the benefit of our team, the organizations we are working for, and the general public at large. We are not all experts in the particular field; every day we learn new things and try to bring the gained knowledge into practice and share the same with our team. As professionals, we come forward in the forum discussions so that all our team members can benefit.
Again, I thank Dipil Ji and Sudhir Ji and moreover, the concerns of Mr. PRTC. Let us take it positively.

I am so glad that after Ramesh Bahrdwaj's post and subsequent responses, Raghu inspired Dipil to initiate a new thread. Dipil immediately acted upon and introduced the thread. We all are concerned about the working people in hotels and restaurant workers in this thread.
Safety and health of workers can be ensured by:
1. Workers themselves to some extent and has a lot of limitations. They can be trained and made aware of what needs to be done through pamphlets, etc. (formal and informal methods and routes).
2. Owners who have a major responsibility. They also may be approached by civil society groups offering them technical help as they may need.
3. The government also has a responsibility by drafting policy, collecting data, publishing and analyzing them for further refinement on policy or laws, enacting laws, enforcing them, prosecuting violators, and creating a conducive social environment.
We have no law at the moment giving legal protection to the hotel and restaurant workers' safety and health at work. Even without a law, workers can be protected, but if a law is there, it becomes mandatory and makes a great difference.
For any campaign, we would need some good case studies to start with, and I invite one and all to share their experiences.

Nice information you have posted in the presentation. It's really true. I think for safety purposes, kitchen maintenance is also the most important thing. Always keep your kitchen clean and use high-quality materials, such as wood. I have seen these types of kitchens in India.
