A day, good or bad, depends on what's your perception and criteria of good and bad.
You lost your purse, it's a bad day for you, but for the one who found it, it was a good day for him. The day itself is the same, neither good nor bad. It's we who declare and classify it as good or bad. We can't have a good day or bad day because it's not in our hands; it totally depends on circumstances, things beyond your control.
You decided to make this day your good day, but suddenly something turns against you, and the day proves to be a bad one. Now you are more frustrated than you were before the choice.
Sometimes it seems impossible to have a good day for weeks because a day has to fulfill so many criteria for being good.
The question here is: what would happen if all your days became good by an overnight miracle? Give it a thought... Now you are starting your day with a motive to make it good, but what will happen when all your days are already good? How will you cope with the boredom of all good? What will be your motivation? If your answer is "I will live the day," then why not live it now? Why wait for a miracle? Why not enjoy every moment, whatever it is... good or bad, with no point of choice coming into the picture.
Think: If it were in our hands, would you ever choose a bad day? No. Everybody would choose a good day, and to paint a realistic picture, 7 billion people can't have a good day on a single day. And what's the criteria to decide if the choice we are making is correct or not? Even the choice you think is correct could be a fatal disaster. One famous story goes like this: "One day, a boy was sent by his father to fetch some water from the nearby well. As his mother was very ill, his father asked him to bring water as fast as possible. The boy went out and was drawing water from the well when an old fellow asked him a favor. He asked him to fetch some water for him also, as he was too old to do it himself. He helped the poor fellow, and by the time he reached home with water, his mother had died. His choice was right on one hand and wrong on the other.
Enjoy the day; living it to the fullest is important. Don't get stuck in the circle of choosing a day to be good or bad; try to make the most of it, whether it's bad or good. If it's going well, cherish it; if it's going badly, cherish it. Because even bad days have their own charm.
For a long time, since the self-help movement started, humans have been trying to avoid a bad day or a negative feeling. But let the bad day come... Face it... Enjoy it... Ultimately, what's important is not how many days you have turned into good or bad, but how many days you have lived your life to its fullest.

While GOOD and BAD are inherently what they would be, the key lies in how we take them.
That is in the words of Guru Stephen Covey, we should control our reaction and proactively face it.
In other words how quickly we come to normalcy is what matters.
Speaking of a stable mind, the great Bhagwat Geeta maintains that ....sukha-duhkhesusamah sanga-vivarjitah... is the most desired behavior. It conveys that the most desired behavior is the one where happiness and sorrow are treated as equal.
In Tamil Language the great Thiruvalluvar says one must attempt to laugh away at adversities
