You will receive an SMS which tells if you the medicine is genuine and provides you will batch number, expiration, and other information.

That is true. All the drugs that are going to be exported outside India must have this barcode printed. This rule is mandatory, and the deadline for this is July 2012. All this information is mentioned on the Hoax or Fact website. That is precisely the reason why I referred to it.
