Hi all, my company pay most of the salary & wages through bank. Is it necessary for the employees to sign their payslips?

The necessity for the employee to sign the payslip is to acknowledge receipt of the payment information. The payslip is intended for the employee's records, and they can choose to keep or discard it. However, the payslip issued to the employer must be duly signed by an authorized signatory. Therefore, on the payslip, the employer's authorized signatory is mandatory, not the employee's.

Yes, it is necessary for employees to sign the payslip as proof that you have issued it to them. You can create the payslip with a carbon copy attached, provide them with the copy, and retain the original for audit and documentation purposes.

Dear Dignitaries,

I started my career in August 2011 in a small HR consulting company as a Junior Consulting HR with the agreement of one year, but now they are not giving salary properly. Meanwhile, till now they didn't provide me a payslip of any month. Will this create any problem in the future?

As a proof of salary, an employee needs to have any of the following:

1) Salary Slip - with office seal and signature by the representative from the payroll department.
2) System-generated pay slips - these pay slips do not require any signatures/stamps.
3) Bank Statement.
4) Form 16.

Any of these four is OK.

Thank you for your effective response, Mr. Sanjeev. I need to know one more thing. My agreement period is for one year, i.e., August 2011 to 2012, and my notice period is for 3 months. Is it possible to give notice before my agreement period (which means 3 months before August 2012)?

In case of agreement, you don't need to give any notice period. Your notice period will lapse on the last day of the contract, i.e., 31st August. You can refuse to extend the contract period or any renewal of it.

I never signed the payslips. Not required. Nowadays, payslips are generated online portal which does not carry both employer & employee signatures. Pon
