Dear Respected Seniors,

I need your help. I am a Commerce graduate from Mumbai University, currently working as an HR Executive in a reputed company with approximately 300 employees. As a Commerce student, I lack knowledge about HR responsibilities and other related aspects. This makes it challenging for me to address our employees' queries and problems, leading to me getting stuck in my other tasks and affecting my personal life. I am unsure how to handle this situation. The job is very challenging, and I aim to strengthen myself and embrace this challenge to become a proficient HR Executive.

Additionally, I would appreciate recommendations for good and simple books on HR job responsibilities.

Please help.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Dear Shubhada,

Looking into your situation, it will be beneficial for you to seek help from your seniors to learn the system before pursuing any HR Diploma. It will undoubtedly take time, but the knowledge gained will last longer. Don't lose hope; enjoy your work.

All the best.

Dear Subhada,

Please do not feel inferior due to a lack of HR qualifications. You can gain knowledge through experience. Whenever you encounter a problem, seek help from your seniors in your department. If they do not respond adequately, you can search on Google or seek assistance from knowledge-sharing sites like CiteHR.

Segment tasks into easy, medium, and tough categories. Complete the easy tasks immediately. For medium-level tasks, seek guidance from appropriate sources. For tough tasks, refer to books or seek guidance from seniors or online resources.

Allocate 5 minutes each morning to list the tasks for the day. Upon completing a task, mark it off. Unfinished tasks can be carried over to the next day's list, prioritizing unfinished tasks from the previous day. Before finishing for the day, review completed tasks and check for any outstanding items.

Always keep a diary or notebook to record instructions and assignments from superiors and track accomplishments. Note the challenges faced and how you resolved them.

Have confidence in yourself; with concentration, interest, involvement, and initiative, you can achieve any goal.

Wishing you all the best, dear.
