Could somebody please let me know what is the difference between recruitment, sourcing and staffing?

Dear,

This is the simple difference between Recruitment, sourcing, and staffing.

Recruitment: Means the process of attracting people for the job.

Sources: Means the type of provider.

Staffing: Means selecting the right person for the right job.

@Dinesh: Your opinion on recruitment is slightly flawed.

@Sofee: Recruitment is a wide concept that encompasses sourcing and staffing. Recruitment is a process that begins after manpower analysis or after identifying the need for human resources. It is a process that starts from requisitioning of staff up until induction and orientation. Sourcing and Staffing are subsections that come under the recruitment concept. A typical recruitment cycle includes Requisition - Sourcing - Assessments - Negotiation - Selection - Staffing.

Sourcing involves CV screening, coordinating HR interviews, and validating candidates. Staffing includes handling joining formalities, induction, and orientation. Some professionals equate staffing with the recruitment process. If said in the right context, it is true. Staffing would also mean the entire process of fulfilling the human resource needs of the company. This explanation above is my personal understanding.
