According to the new ruling of the MP High Court, now the PF would be calculated on the gross salary and not on the basic, effective from 2002. What would be the repercussion of this new law? Employees would certainly be happy! :) ;)

Hi, I'm working as an HR recruiter in a consulting firm. I have been there for the last two years. I have a little bit of knowledge in other aspects of HR like payroll, employee relations, training, and development. However, whenever I go to interviews, I fail to answer their HR-related questions. Can you provide questions and answers related to HR topics? What are the important questions they will ask me, and how should I communicate with them? What should I tell them? Please, can anyone help me?

Hey Poornima,
I beg to differ from the views presented by Mr. Vikas.
Well, it's a matter of how you approach the interview and which direction you steer it in your favor. You can start by stating your specialization is in Recruitment. However, on the other hand, you consistently update yourself through the Internet, newspapers, and books. Additionally, you can mention that you engage with other HR professionals to stay informed about the latest laws and other developments.
There are no set questions, but you should prepare according to the position you are applying for. For example, if you are applying for an HR/IR role, familiarize yourself with the company's legal aspects such as the Factories Act, Trade Union Act, Workmen Compensation Act, Standing Orders, and Maternity-related laws.
When it comes to salary matters, ensure you understand the regulations and updates of PF, ESIC, Gratuity, Bonus, Pension – including account numbers, respective forms, calculations, etc.
For a Generalist profile, make sure you have comprehensive knowledge across various areas such as Training and Development, Recruitment, Appraisals, and retention policies.
Wishing you the best of luck next time! Feel free to reach out to me if needed.
Warm Regards
