Dear All,
Kindly let me know what the law states. It is mentioned that the total working hours in a week are 48 hours, which means 8 hours per day. But does this 8 hours include a 1-hour break as well? As per my knowledge, the working hours are continuous working hours. If an employee takes a 1-hour break, then the total working hours become 9 hours.
Please clarify.

We are working at the client site and we are told to work from 8:30 in the morning up to 10:00 pm, sometimes even later. We have been working like this for the past 6 months. Another factor adding to our harassment is that we are freshers and have a contract employee agreement. According to this agreement, if we break it, we have to pay 75000, which they took at the time of joining.
I want to leave this company because I am not able to work this many hours but I fear having to pay 75000. Can you please suggest any ideas to help me come out of this situation?

Dear All,
I am working in a reputed industry. We have two shifts and work six days a week. Our working hours for the 1st shift are from 6 am to 3 pm, and for the 2nd shift from 3 pm to 12 am, with a 1-hour lunch break. I am unsure if this schedule is legal. If it is not legal, what other options do we have for correction? Please advise. (54 hours/week)
