Salary deductions are somewhat different besides Provident Fund (PF) such as in the bank. The PF deduction is 10% of the basic salary. Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) depends upon the salary range. Additionally, there is the option to contribute to the Death Relief Fund (DRF) or opt for Group Insurance at Rs 125 per month. Festival advance amount varies based on the basic salary and can be repaid in 10 monthly installments.

Dear Prerna,
The correct way to calculate the gratuity is as per the following formula: 15/26 x GS x SER.
Gratuity Salary (GS): Last drawn basic salary including dearness allowance (if any).
Gratuity Service (SER): Completed years of continuous service with part thereof in excess of six months.
Regards, Sanjeev

Dear Mr. Shreekanth,
4.81% for Gratuity is worked out on the following basis. Assume the employee is drawing a wage of Rs.100 per month. 100 x 15 / 26 / 12 will give you the Gratuity computation per annum. Further, if you divide this by 12 (calendar months in a year), then you will arrive at 4.81%.
Trust the matter is clarified.

Dear Seniors,
I have joined the organization as an HR Executive. Previously, I was responsible for Training & Development, but now I have to handle a generalist profile. I would be grateful if you could let me know the requirements for PF & ESIC forms, both online and offline submission processes. Additionally, is it necessary to get registered for these forms, and what are the criteria for the same?

In the current company, gratuity is calculated as per the act, i.e., 4.81%. However, the new recruiter is calculating almost 8% of the basic as gratuity. My basic salary has been reduced by almost 25k from the current one. So, are these things considered good? Should I accept the offer, and what points should be kept in mind while accepting the offer?
