Hello,
I am an HR professional with 7+ years of experience. I am a BE graduate and have completed a 1-year part-time HR course at Welingkar College. This year, I will also complete a distance education MBA from ICFAI. However, to further enhance my career, I am considering pursuing an Executive MBA from TISS. I am unsure if this Executive MBA will benefit my career. I would appreciate your advice on this matter.
Thank you,

Dear Borntosin,
I think your HR knowledge is limited to recruitment and payroll only. That is why you are saying, "Even a 10th pass can do an HR job if he/she has some common sense and basic English skills."
My dear friend, Cite HR is the best place for you to enhance your knowledge about HR. Haven't you heard about HCL's Employee First policy?
In today's scenario, HR has gained significant importance and is fast becoming a strategic partner. Having an additional degree, such as a BE, would always be beneficial. Engineering is not just a degree; it also helps you develop logical thinking. Therefore, it is not a waste of money.
Kind regards,

Dear Borntosin,
You are right that HR never bagged multi-million-dollar contracts, but if HR is working properly in a company, the company can secure many such contracts. It's true that HR doesn't show any tangible benefits but can provide enormous intangible ones. You can learn about HCL employee first at [HCL Technologies - Employee First, Customer Second](http://www.slideshare.net/samratmukherjee/hclemployeefirst12336398314444561).
'Employees First' is gaining worldwide recognition - it is now a case study at the Harvard Business School.
You must understand that HR is the most important function since it deals with human beings who have developed rocket science filled with complex mathematical calculations and empirical formulas and who bring billion-dollar contracts. Human beings run rockets, not the other way around. By researching, you can find out how HR is helping companies to grow. If you don't recruit and retain the right talent, how will you grow? If your employees are not emotionally attached to your organization, how will you succeed?
HR does all this for the organization.
