Hello, Can anyone help me with ideas on how to improve an already existing onboarding program? We do have a 90 buddy program in place. Also, what questions could I expect in the interview for an Onboarding Specialist?
Thanks,

Hi Smita,
The success of an onboarding program depends on the type of company, the nature of the business, and the current style of the onboarding program. A good feedback mechanism will give you a lot of pointers as to the areas of improvement required.
When it comes to the questions one may ask an onboarding specialist, the emphasis will be on the experience, implementation, and uniqueness of the onboarding programs that have been handled in the past. There could be other topics to explore, such as the key to successful onboarding, reasons for failures in implementation, evaluation methods of the program, etc.

Dear Smitha,
I searched on ONBOARDING and found this statement: "Business sage Jim Rohn has a simple saying that conveys much wisdom: It's not what you know, it's what you DO with what you know that makes a difference in your life."
Found at 13 Questions To Help Optimize Your Onboarding Efforts - Onboarding, new hire orientation, employee engagement <link updated to site home> (Search On Cite | Search On Google)
So, if I were interviewing, like Lacob says, I will be finding out what you know as well as how you implemented or operated the system where you worked/are working; problems faced, etc.
Have a nice day.

Onboarding processes are very important for early stage startup . As first impressions mean a lot to an employee’s stay at the company especially if you are a start up
To make sure you retain your employees, employee engagement must begin on the first day and thats why you need a good onboarding process .
A good on-boarding process should be uniform set of procedures such as appointment letters, confidentiality agreements , compliance forms and welcome kits.
