Hi Shwetha,

The first thing I would advise is to start loving being an HR. It's a responsible job where we have to balance human emotions and professionalism. Be prepared for the negatives and positives of the job. If you are ready for this, you can develop an attitude of loving the HR profession. Your thoughts should always benefit the company. You are an important person responsible for the smooth functioning of the system.

Hi,

Just be a good human. Work on communication (I am not talking about English but understanding and communicating) and listening (not just hearing) skills.

Believe in the concept that you are there for the people. Develop people-oriented skills.

Adopt a rational approach towards things and don't just act as a mediator between management and employees. Establish clear rights and wrongs, while also cultivating the ability to assess whether your judgments are beneficial and not disruptive to people.

Once you have developed the above (which is not as easy as it sounds), people will start coming to you, talking to you, and as we all know, communication is the key to success for every HR professional.

So, all the best, and I hope you become a great HR professional someday.

Hi Swetha,

Love the job in HR. Try to learn new things from mistakes, understand people around you, communicate your ideas to management, develop rapport with employees, maintain a positive attitude, prepare for challenges, and build trust with management. Be loyal. Employees should feel that they can discuss anything with you; create such a situation while maintaining confidentiality. Finally, always have a smile on your face, even when you're feeling irritated, and maintain control over the subject.

A good HR professional must be a good communicator. They must have the ability to speak on any topic and in any environment or to any crowd, as well as judge people effectively. Other basic skills will be taught to you theoretically and implemented in practical scenarios.

Hello Shweta,

HR work is a very big responsibility. An HR person is like a gatekeeper between the company and the full world. If an HR person selects the wrong person for the company, the effects are quickly seen in the company's performance. Before any new recruitment, we should ensure that the particular person is suitable or not. This assessment directly impacts the company's growth.
