I need the clarification regarding trade licence, Our company is retail trading of electronic consumer durables. We have registered under Shops and Establishments Act. Even then This Municipality people are asking for trade licence.
As for my knowledge is concern that is not applicable to my industry. please clarify me.

The local muncipal acts have instituted this pricess and they are quite old. It is one of the sources of the income for the civic bodies.
It is required to have a trade licence from the respective civic body in karnataka be it Muncipality, village panchayath or metro corporation.
This also applies to factories through they have a separate factory licence issues by the inspectorate of factories.
Hence irrespective of having a licence under the shops and commercial establishments acts it is mandatory to have a trade licence from the repective civic body.
