Please verify your payslip, pay structure provided to you, along with the appointment order. Discuss this with your HR. Note that you can't change your salary structure as per your choice; it is company-specific.

Thank you for your reply. I've raised this issue with my HR, and he escalated it to the CA. The CA mentioned that the challan has already been filed, so it is not possible to change the basic salary on the PF Portal. Please advise me on the next steps. Is there any alternative method to address this issue?

You have not mentioned what the different components are in your salary package. As per your post, it appears that the PF contribution has been made more than expected. We do not know what your expectation is. After the verdict of the Apex Court in Feb 2019, PF contribution will be, in your case, on Basic & Special allowance if there is no other regular allowance in your salary package.
Extra PF deducted from your salary with equal contribution by your employer is good in my opinion because it is forced savings. Initially, there will be some problem with less take-home salary but it will be regularized after a few months or after receiving the next increment.

In normal cases, PF Gross (Basic, VDA, and other regular allowances) may change. In the case of VDA, there are ups and downs in the index when PF gross will change. If any organization is paying PF contribution above 15K per month, the PF gross may change. However, organizations that are paying PF contributions up to 15K per month cannot reduce it as PF contributions will be less.
