Hi, I am working in the IT industry and have over 10 years of experience now. I am joining a new organization; however, I do not want to include the experiences with a 5-month tenure. What will happen if I omit these experiences at the new company? These experiences do not provide relevant skills for my current profile. Are there any potential issues because of this? Please suggest.

Dear Dip, Why should you omit it unless it has some black marks? Even then, if it comes to light in future, it may pose you some trouble though you would have convincingly explained the gap.

That 4-5 months of experience is of no use. There is no productive work in that tenure. It will just increase my resume length. It does not make any sense to mention the experience on my CV. However, I will keep all the other experiences as it is with the proper experience and relieving letters.

I consulted with some other people and received the reply that keeping the information on your resume is just a matter of personal choice. My resume is primarily for marketing purposes, so it is fine if I remove older experiences spanning more than 6 years.

Please advise.

You can use an innocuous-looking word like 'relevant/related' experience to describe your background. I hope you are not covered by the EPF Scheme; otherwise, you will get caught in the first few days.

In the BGV form, it is mentioned that you can either describe the 3 years of experience or the experience from the past 1-2 companies. In this case, is there any issue if I cannot show my 4-5 months old experience (around 7 years back)?
