During the suspension period, you are not paid a salary, but only a subsistence allowance is provided. Subsistence allowance is an amount paid for the survival of the employee. It is not earned by the employee through working in the establishment, so it does not fall under the definition of wages. Therefore, subsistence allowance will not attract PF contribution.
