I worked for a company for 4 years and 11 months (6 days a week). However, at the time of leaving, the employer said that I was not eligible for gratuity. I want to know if I am eligible for gratuity or not. If yes, then please provide information with the relevant government clause.

The law states that 5 years of continuous service are required. One court case has ruled that gratuity should be given to a person who had 240 days of service in the last year of employment. However, the law specifies 5 years of service. If necessary, you may need to approach the labor officer or seek assistance from the court.
