Dear experts,

In our organization, we have some gardeners who work on a daily basis for 1 or 2 hours at most. I have a couple of queries:

1. Is Provident Fund (PF) applicable to them?
2. Can they work in another organization on the same day?

Kindly provide clarification.

Thank you,
Ashok

The gardening contractor has to consider this. If he engages 10 or more workers, the act becomes applicable to the contractor. He has to deduct PF from wages for 1 hour or more. He may bill you for 1 hour but pay monthly/weekly to the gardener.

You have to give PF to them. He can use the same UAN for other establishments also.
