My Ideas
1. Oral Communication: Take any topic with a lot of content, for example, cricket. Narrow it down to a single match. Please have a clear idea of what you are going to speak about. If you are afraid, write on a piece of paper. Go in front of a mirror and talk to yourself. Speak slowly. Ensure all statements are connected to the previous ones. Never worry about others' mockery regarding this. If you gain confidence, repeat the same with a friend instead of a mirror.
If you are an introvert, it is natural to be afraid of speaking in front of many people. Just select one of your friends. Talk to him for a few days. Then talk to two, then three, and so on. Remember to make eye contact while you speak. You can use facial expressions and hand movements.
2. Written Communication: Go through old official letters in your office. If you are not working, you can find plenty of them on Google. You will start to recognize some patterns. Then, work on improving your grammar.

This forum will provide you with material for improving communication. Firstly, decide in your mind what and with whom you want to communicate. The purpose and objective of communication need to be decided. Once you are clear about what and why, then you can assemble facts, suggestions, etc., to enhance your communication. It is a matter of practice and prior study of the subject matter of communication.

Dear Mohan sir,
When you communicate, you speak English without anyone's help. When you read English materials, you understand, but you cannot speak on that topic, and that is the real problem many are facing.
You sent me a reply, but do you know the number of mistakes in your sentences? I want to tell you that your paragraph has three mistakes, and I am sure you have used two words without knowing whether they are right or wrong. I encourage you, if you know how to correct your mistakes, you can become a good communicator in English. So, you can have a personal trainer who can polish your language.
God bless you,
Babu

Practice makes perfect. Read and expand your vocabulary. Check out every new word in a dictionary. Mistakes will be part of the learning process, but there is no point in becoming disheartened. Watch English news on TV, videos on the English language on YouTube or Dailymotion.com. Speak to your office friends in English as a matter of choice. It is not difficult.

Hi Gmohanrajhr, As a fresher, initially, I was also facing the same problems. After so many firings, I immediately started reading newspapers, articles, books in English. Moreover, I started communicating with people in English, no matter how bad my English was. Now I am not the best communicator, but yes, I can convey my thoughts in a good manner. Please try these tips; they will surely help you. Remember, you should learn from your mistakes but should not repeat the same mistake again!! Good Luck!!

I would prefer you to keep a dictionary (English to Hindi) and whenever you come across any new words while reading anything, anywhere, just learn to find the meaning of it and see how the word and your interests relate to it. Also, using Google, you may search for sample sentences using a particular word. Most importantly, command of any language comes through practice - reading and writing both. You have to keep in mind that the more you practice with friends, family, etc., the more you will master it. Please don't worry if people around you laugh at your broken English or anything. Challenge them to help correct what they are laughing at. This will not only help you open your mind but also silence the laughing mouths of those who mock what they cannot do themselves.
All the best. Grammar plays an important role in effective communication, both orally and in writing. You can find easy grammar tutorials online. Also, as a beginner, start by constructing simpler sentences. Later, you can increase your vocabulary for more complex sentences. As a tip: speak in a way that people can understand you, so you can help them understand you as well.

All learned members have given you valuable and useful suggestions. Make it a point to practice reading newspapers like Economic Times, TOI, etc. Watch English class videos on YouTube. Most importantly, try to learn new words every day and use them in practice. Whenever you come across a new word, look it up in the dictionary and understand its various meanings. Speak to your fellow officials in English and develop the language. If you are clear on the objective and ready to put in the effort, it is possible to improve without having to attend professional classes or spend money.
