Dear HR Fraternity,
I have been appointed as a P/A assistant, and during the interview, I was informed that I would be responsible for IR-related issues. However, the HR head is assigning me the housekeeping job here, which is not feasible for me as it could hinder my career progression. What should I do? Should I resign and look for another job, or should I continue in this role? Please note that the HR head is reluctant to assign me the IR issues, even though I am well-versed in them. Your guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Dear Ashis,
Try to understand the reasons behind your boss assigning you to housekeeping. I can see the positive side of this as it may provide more opportunities for interaction with all employees and a chance to understand people better. Asking and understanding could give you a better insight into handling IR issues.
I hope your offered designation is P/A Assistant - IR.
Regards,
Sekhar

Dear Ashish,
You should try to look at the positive aspects of this job because in every job, you will find both positive and negative points. It is better if you take this situation positively and try to give your best. Maybe your manager is observing your skills through this task.

First of all, let the forum know how long you have been working for this company. If it has only been a few months, then please wait for some more time. If it has been over a period of time, it is advisable to talk to the HR Head and express your keenness in handling IR issues. Make sure your HR Head is aware that you are well versed in IR matters.
