If you have a proper appointment/relieving letter and evidence pertaining to salary, you need not bother about it until your current employer seeks your intervention. It's the third party's duty to get the information and furnish it to your employer. It will not make much difference nor affect you directly.
If, in case you have created any chaos, then certainly it's a problem. If nothing is there, you needn't worry about anything, and it will be taken care of by the third party. They can't say that the company is not responding because of business prospects. They will somehow obtain it and close your background verification.

If a third-party agency is sending reminders via email only, you can provide them with the concerned person's name and contact number for verbal verification. Ensure to send the verification remarks as a confirmation email to the concerned person.
There is no harm to you if you possess all the relevant documents and your performance/behavior has been satisfactory.
