Hi,

My name is Sameer. I worked as a software developer in XX company for 2 years. Due to the low project cost, management told us to resign. Currently, I am jobless. Now, for the last 2 months, I haven't received any calls from any companies or consultancies. I have also applied (sent my resume) to dozens of companies, but they never shortlist my resume for an interview. Now, what can I do? Can I lie about why I left my previous job during an interview if I get a call? Or should I consider using a fake experience certificate? Please help me.

Thank you.

Hi Sameer,

I completely understand your frustration. However, please do not include any fake experience as it will not benefit you in any way. Share your CV with experienced professionals who can provide feedback on its content. Your resume may be a key reason why you are not receiving any calls, so ensuring it stands out in comparison to other applicants in the market is crucial.

You could also mention that you left your previous job due to personal emergencies rather than stating that the company relieved you for certain reasons. During times of downsizing, companies often let go of employees based on performance metrics such as stack ranking, and while this may not be your situation, it is advisable not to disclose the specifics. Despite any challenges, try to stay motivated and positive as frustration can impact your performance in interviews.

I will consider sharing your resume within my company. Good luck!

Hello Sameer,

I suggest that you expand the project summary, especially your role. There is too little detail to attract any recruiter. Also, you mentioned only one project. Were you involved in just one project for two years?
