Thank you for sharing the information with us. When I received your email, I made a call to my mom and briefly relayed the message that you enclosed in this thread. We normally change the cylinder tubes every 6 months in our hotel and every one year at home. My mom always opts for cheap and best materials. I have requested her once again that wherever they buy, especially regulators and tubes, I strongly recommend going to an authorized dealer even if it costs $200+ more compared to ordinary tubes.
She was actually surprised by the survey results regarding the gas cylinder accidents in 2011, which resulted in 586 deaths.
