I have a rental agreement but my owner is not ready to give me rent receipts. I am paying 6k rent to him. Is there any way I can use the rental agreement as a proof for tax exemption? If not, then what other options do I have?

Yes, registered agreements are valid proofs of rent payment. It can be used for tax purposes.
