Dear Dr. Hamada,
Many executives and CEOs think that by being good to their subordinates is a good HRM policy! One should not be too goody-goody to all, at all times. Sometimes one has to be tough to steer the team in the right direction. For this, a leader requires a lot of guts and a clear vision to take the team ahead. Your posting is a welcome addition because it contains the real ingredients of leadership.
The best way to motivate a team is to get self-motivated. Unless a leader himself is not motivated, he cannot motivate his team. So, the lessons should start with oneself. Furthermore, mere management skills are not sufficient. A leader should bring into play his personal qualities, traits, and attributes and combine these with management skills to succeed if he has infinite patience. Motivation is not an easy task, and one requires extraordinary skill to understand the followers' needs and accordingly play his cards.
I thank you for the good posting. We look forward to many such useful and effective posts.
