Hello,
I have opted for a scheme certificate in Form 10C.
My query is, once I receive the scheme certificate:
1) Do I have to submit it to the PF office through the current employer, or
2) Can I personally submit it to the PF office?
3) Can this be submitted at once, I mean once I retire (opt for a pension)?
My current employer is not aware of the scheme certificate. Can you please help me with how I need to proceed?
Thanks,
Vishal Purohit

Dear Vishal,
Scheme Certificate in Form 10C is to be submitted for retention of your membership. You will have to get this attested by your previous employer and through your current employer; this shall be submitted to the EPFO. Scheme Certificate can be opted in the event of not completing 10 years of services. This is opted in lieu of withdrawal benefit.

Dear friends,
Getting attestation from the previous employer is not necessary. Keep the original and take a xerox copy. Get attestation from the current employer and submit it to the PF Office through the current employer. Get the acknowledgment from the PF Office. That's all.

Dear Alphonse,
In case the claimant is unable to get it attested by the previous employer, the same can be submitted with an attestation from the Manager of the Bank or a Gazetted Officer. In any case, EPFO needs an attestation as authentication of the claim.

Dear Vishal,
I would like to know your age and years of service in the PF. A Scheme Certificate is used to retain your Pension fund until you attain the age of 58. You can then start receiving your monthly pension, or you have the option to opt for reduced pension at the age of 50 if you are no longer working. However, based on my understanding that you are currently employed, you can choose to transfer the fund instead of opting for the Scheme Certificate.

Dear Vishal,
You may either send the scheme certificate to the present PF office through the present employer to be added to the present service or surrender the scheme certificate while applying for a pension so that the previous service will also be added to the present. However, in the first choice, kindly ensure that the previous service is added to the present. Once the original Scheme Certificate is surrendered, it cannot be regained later.
